Moody Profile

Overview

Moody is a very small city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 1,380 people and just one neighborhood, Moody is the 733rd largest community in Texas.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Moody is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Moody is a city of service providers, sales and office workers, and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Moody who work in office and administrative support (14.43%), maintenance occupations (9.10%), and sales jobs (8.54%).

Also of interest is that Moody has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Setting & Lifestyle

The city is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Moody has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Moody a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

Moody is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Moody Demographics

The percentage of people in Moody with college degrees is quite a bit lower than the national average for cities and towns of 21.84%: just 10.73% of people over 25 have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in Moody in 2010 was $20,080, which is middle income relative to Texas, and lower middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $80,320 for a family of four. However, Moody contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Moody home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Moody residents report their race to be White, followed by Black or African-American. Moody also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 26.58% of the city’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Moody include German, English, Italian, and Czech.

The most common language spoken in Moody is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Korean.
