Fate Profile

Overview

Fate is a somewhat small city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 9,847 people and just one neighborhood, Fate is the 301st largest community in Texas. Fate has seen a significant amount of newer housing growth in recent years. Quite often, new home construction is the result of new residents moving in who are middle class or wealthier, attracted by jobs, a healthy local economy, or other amenities as they leave nearby or far away areas for greener pastures. This seems to be the case in Fate, where the median household income is $89,505.00.

Fate real estate is some of the most expensive in Texas, although Fate house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Fate is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Fate is a city of professionals, sales and office workers, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Fate who work in office and administrative support (13.43%), teaching (12.20%), and management occupations (11.70%).

Of important note, Fate is also a city of artists. Fate has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Fate’s character.

Also of interest is that Fate has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Fate is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Fate a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The city’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Fate has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Fate’s overall crime rate ranks among the lowest in the country, making it one of the safest places to raise a family.

One downside of living in Fate, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 32.26 minutes every day commuting to work.

Fate is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Fate Demographics

The education level of Fate ranks among the highest in the nation. Of the 25-and-older adult population in Fate, 41.15% have at least a bachelor's degree. The typical US community has just 21.84% of its adults holding a bachelor's degree or graduate degree.

The per capita income in Fate in 2010 was $31,868, which is wealthy relative to Texas and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $127,472 for a family of four.

Fate is a very ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Fate home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Fate residents report their race to be White, followed by Black or African-American. Fate also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 18.45% of the city’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Fate include German, English, French , and Welsh.

The most common language spoken in Fate is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Gujarathi.
