Reidville Profile

Overview

Reidville is a tiny town located in the state of South Carolina. With a population of 619 people and just one neighborhood, Reidville is the 214th largest community in South Carolina. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Reidville, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Reidville, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Reidville’s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. Reidville does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income is $52,500.00.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Reidville is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Reidville is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and production and manufacturing workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Reidville who work in office and administrative support (19.05%), sales jobs (13.78%), and teaching (12.53%).

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Reidville has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Reidville has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Reidville than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Reidville may be for you.

Being a small town, Reidville does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Reidville Demographics

In terms of college education, Reidville is nearly on par with the US average for all cities of 21.84%: 18.20% of adults 25 and older in Reidville have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in Reidville in 2010 was $21,995, which is upper middle income relative to South Carolina, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $87,980 for a family of four. However, Reidville contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Reidville home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups.
