Overview

White Sands is a very small town located in the state of New Mexico. With a population of 1,675 people and just one neighborhood, White Sands is the 70th largest community in New Mexico.

Occupations and Workforce

20.14% of the workforce is employed in the armed forces, making the military a huge focus of life in White Sands. Even though it is a military town, the civilian sector still plays an important role in the local economy. The Public Service and Accommodation industries respectively employ 31.03% and 13.41% of the civilian workforce.

Also of interest is that White Sands has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.
