Richey is a tiny town located in the state of Montana. With a population of 189 people and just one neighborhood, Richey is the 124th largest community in Montana. Much of the housing stock in Richey was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some towns, Richey isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Richey are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Richey is a town of managers, professionals and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Richey who work in management occupations (26.32%), teaching (22.11%) and office and administrative support (9.47%).
Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 9.47% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
One of the benefits of Richey is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 17.44 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.
Richey is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
