Lakeside Profile

Overview

Lakeside is a very small town located in the state of Montana. With a population of 2,734 people and just one neighborhood, Lakeside is the 29th largest community in Montana.

Lakeside home prices are not only among the most expensive in Montana, but Lakeside real estate also consistently ranks among the most expensive in America.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns, Lakeside isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Lakeside are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Lakeside is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and production and manufacturing workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Lakeside who work in office and administrative support (22.73%), sales jobs (10.64%), and healthcare (10.33%).

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Lakeside has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Lakeside has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Lakeside than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Lakeside may be for you.

In Lakeside, a lot of people use the bus to get to work every day though Lakeside is a relatively small town. Those that ride the bus are primarily traveling out of town to good jobs in other cities.

Lakeside Demographics

Lakeside is one of the most well-educated cities in the nation. 44.05% of adults in Lakeside have at least a bachelor's degree. Compare that to the average community in America, which has just 21.84% with a bachelor's degree or higher.

The per capita income in Lakeside in 2010 was $43,701, which is wealthy relative to Montana and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $174,804 for a family of four. However, Lakeside contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Lakeside home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Lakeside residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Lakeside include Irish, English, Norwegian, and Italian.

The most common language spoken in Lakeside is English. Other important languages spoken here include Italian and Polish.
