Farley Profile

Overview

Farley is a tiny village located in the state of Missouri. With a population of 284 people and just one neighborhood, Farley is the 476th largest community in Missouri.

Farley real estate is some of the most expensive in Missouri, although Farley house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some villages, Farley isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Farley are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Farley is a village of service providers, transportation and shipping workers, and sales and office workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Farley who work in management occupations (12.75%), sales jobs (10.78%), and personal care services (10.78%).

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 7.53% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Setting & Lifestyle

In addition, Farley is home to many people who could be described as "urban sophisticates". Urban sophisticates are people who are both educated and wealthy, and thus tend to be older, richer, and more established than young professionals. "Urban sophisticates" is not just about being educated and well-off financially: it is a point of view and state of mind, one that you might call 'urbaneness'. But such people can and do regularly live in small towns, suburbs and rural areas, as well as in big cities. They read, support the arts and high-end shops, and love travel.

Because of many things, Farley is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Farley really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Farley perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

The village is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Farley has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Farley a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

Farley is a small village, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Farley Demographics

The citizens of Farley are very well educated compared to the average community in the nation: 34.94% of adults in Farley have a bachelor's degree or even advanced degree.

The per capita income in Farley in 2010 was $28,955, which is wealthy relative to Missouri, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $115,820 for a family of four. However, Farley contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Farley home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Farley residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Farley include German, English, Italian, and French .

The most common language spoken in Farley is English. Other important languages spoken here include African languages and Hebrew.
