Buhl Profile

Overview

Buhl is a very small city located in the state of Minnesota. With a population of 990 people and just one neighborhood, Buhl is the 346th largest community in Minnesota. Much of the housing stock in Buhl was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Buhl is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Buhl is a city of service providers, sales and office workers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Buhl who work in office and administrative support (11.96%), sales jobs (8.65%), and personal care services (8.14%).

Setting & Lifestyle

The city is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Buhl has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Buhl a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

As is often the case in a small city, Buhl doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Buhl Demographics

The citizens of Buhl are slightly less educated than the national average of 21.84% for the average city or town: 13.39% of adults in Buhl have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree

The per capita income in Buhl in 2010 was $21,672, which is lower middle income relative to Minnesota, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $86,688 for a family of four. However, Buhl contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

Buhl is a somewhat ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Buhl home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Buhl residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Buhl include Finnish, Swedish, Italian, and Norwegian.
