Maybee Profile

Overview

Maybee is a tiny village located in the state of Michigan. With a population of 545 people and just one neighborhood, Maybee is the 545th largest community in Michigan. Much of the housing stock in Maybee was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic villages in the country.

Maybee real estate is some of the most expensive in Michigan, although Maybee house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Occupations and Workforce

Maybee is a blue-collar town, with 35.29% of people working in blue-collar occupations, while the average in America is just 27.7%. Overall, Maybee is a village of professionals, service providers, and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Maybee who work in healthcare (11.34%), office and administrative support (9.66%), and management occupations (8.82%).

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Maybee is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Maybee a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The village’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Maybee has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Maybee’s overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

The village is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Maybee has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Maybee a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

One downside of living in Maybee is that it can take a long time to commute to work. In Maybee, the average commute to work is 37.76 minutes, which is quite a bit higher than the national average.

Being a small village, Maybee does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Maybee Demographics

The education level of Maybee citizens, measured as those with bachelor's degrees or advanced degrees, is similar to the national average for all American cities and towns. 20.05% of adults 25 and older in Maybee have a college degree.

The per capita income in Maybee in 2010 was $24,991, which is upper middle income relative to Michigan, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $99,964 for a family of four. However, Maybee contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Maybee home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Maybee residents report their race to be White. Important ancestries of people in Maybee include English, Polish, Irish, and French .

The most common language spoken in Maybee is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and African languages.
