Kanorado Profile

Overview

Kanorado is a tiny city located in the state of Kansas. With a population of 154 people and just one neighborhood, Kanorado is the 283rd largest community in Kansas. Much of the housing stock in Kanorado was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.

Occupations and Workforce

When you are in Kanorado, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 38.71% of Kanorado’s employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 27.7% that do. Overall, Kanorado is a city of construction workers and builders, sales and office workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Kanorado who work in sales jobs (12.90%), management occupations (9.68%), and law enforcement and fire fighting (6.45%).

Of important note, Kanorado is also a city of artists. Kanorado has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Kanorado’s character.

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet city because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Kanorado has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Kanorado has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Kanorado than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Kanorado may be for you.

One of the benefits of Kanorado is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 17.59 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.

Kanorado is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Kanorado Demographics

The population of Kanorado has one of the lowest overall levels of education in the country: only 2.70% of people over 25 hold a college degree. The national average for all municipalities is 21.84%.

The per capita income in Kanorado in 2010 was $26,524, which is wealthy relative to Kansas, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $106,096 for a family of four.
