Hills is a tiny city located in the state of Iowa. With a population of 822 people and just one neighborhood, Hills is the 332nd largest community in Iowa.

Hills real estate is some of the most expensive in Iowa, although Hills house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Occupations and Workforce

Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Hills is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Hills who work in sales jobs (20.94%), office and administrative support (10.99%), and management occupations (7.85%).

Compared to the rest of the country, citizens of Hills spend much less time in their cars: on average, their commute to work is only 18.96 minutes. This also means that noise and pollution levels in the city are less than they would otherwise be.

Hills is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Hills Demographics

The education level of Hills citizens, measured as those with bachelor's degrees or advanced degrees, is similar to the national average for all American cities and towns. 20.07% of adults 25 and older in Hills have a college degree.

The per capita income in Hills in 2010 was $22,405, which is lower middle income relative to Iowa, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $89,620 for a family of four. However, Hills contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

Hills is a somewhat ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Hills home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups.
