With 5,461 people, 2,380 houses or apartments, and a median cost of homes of $812,994, Vail house prices are not only among the most expensive in Colorado, Vail real estate also is some of the most expensive in all of America.

Large apartment complexes or high rise apartments are the single most common housing type in Vail, accounting for 51.87% of the town's housing units. Other types of housing that are prevalent in Vail include row houses and other attached homes ( 22.28%), single-family detached homes ( 15.78%), and a few duplexes, homes converted to apartments or other small apartment buildings ( 9.75%).
