Occupations and Workforce
Fraser is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Fraser is a town of service providers, managers and sales and office workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Fraser who work in food service (26.03%), management occupations (14.94%) and sales jobs (8.53%).
Of important note, Fraser is also a town of artists. Fraser has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Fraser’s character.
Setting & Lifestyle
Another notable thing is that Fraser is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the town experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller town.
Despite the fact that it is a small town, Fraser has quite a few people who take public transportation – mostly the bus - for their daily commute to work. This helps to fill a real need in the town for affordable transportation.
