Eaton Profile

Overview

Eaton is a very small town located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 5,738 people and just one neighborhood, Eaton is the 87th largest community in Colorado. There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Eaton, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Eaton, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Eaton’s real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. Eaton does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income is $77,762.00.

Housing costs in Eaton are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in Colorado.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Eaton is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Eaton is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Eaton who work in office and administrative support (14.75%), management occupations (11.42%), and maintenance occupations (11.18%).

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Eaton is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Eaton really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Eaton perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

Eaton is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Eaton Demographics

The education level of Eaton citizens is substantially higher than the typical US community, as 32.95% of adults in Eaton have at least a bachelor's degree.

The per capita income in Eaton in 2018 was $29,626, which is middle income relative to Colorado, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $118,504 for a family of four. However, Eaton contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

Eaton is a very ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Eaton home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Eaton residents report their race to be White, followed by Asian. Eaton also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 21.29% of the town’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Eaton include German, Irish, Swedish, English, and French.

The most common language spoken in Eaton is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Italian.
