Pine Valley Profile

Overview

Pine Valley is a very small town located in the state of California. With a population of 1,568 people and just one neighborhood, Pine Valley is the 667th largest community in California.

Housing costs in Pine Valley are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in California.

Occupations and Workforce

Pine Valley is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Pine Valley is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Pine Valley who work in sales jobs (18.11%), management occupations (9.47%), and law enforcement and fire fighting (9.19%).

Also of interest is that Pine Valley has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Of important note, Pine Valley is also a town of artists. Pine Valley has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Pine Valley’s character.

A relatively large number of people in Pine Valley telecommute to their jobs. Overall, about 9.60% of the workforce works from home. While this may seem like a small number, as a fraction of the total workforce it ranks among the highest in the country. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Pine Valley has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Pine Valley has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Pine Valley than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Pine Valley may be for you.

One downside of living in Pine Valley, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 37.50 minutes every day commuting to work.

Pine Valley is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Pine Valley Demographics

In terms of college education, Pine Valley is substantially better educated than the typical community in the nation, which has 21.84% of the adults holding a bachelor's degree or graduate degree: 31.88% of adults in Pine Valley have a college degree.

The per capita income in Pine Valley in 2018 was $45,781, which is upper middle income relative to California, and wealthy relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $183,124 for a family of four.

Pine Valley is a very ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Pine Valley home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Pine Valley residents report their race to be White, followed by Asian. Pine Valley also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race).
