Aguanga profile

Living in Aguanga

Aguanga is a tiny town located in the state of California. With a population of 989 people and two associated neighborhoods, Aguanga is the 756th largest community in California.

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 25.84% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Aguanga has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Aguanga has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Aguanga than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Aguanga may be for you.

One downside of living in Aguanga, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 44.89 minutes every day commuting to work.

As is often the case in a small town, Aguanga doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

In terms of college education, Aguanga is somewhat better educated than the 21.84% who have a 4-year degree or higher in the typical US community: 28.87% of adults 25 and older in the town have at least a bachelor's degree.

The per capita income in Aguanga in 2022 was $42,819, which is middle income relative to California, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $171,276 for a family of four. However, Aguanga contains both very wealthy and poor people as well. Aguanga also has one of the higher rates of people living in poverty in the nation, with 33.50% of its population below the federal poverty line.

Aguanga is a very ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Aguanga home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Aguanga residents report their race to be White, followed by Black or African-American. Aguanga also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 15.59% of the town’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Aguanga include German, Italian, Irish, Hungarian, and English.

Aguanga also has a high percentage of its population that was born in another country: 17.08%.

The most common language spoken in Aguanga is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Italian.
