Pearcy Profile

Overview

Pearcy is a somewhat small town located in the state of Arkansas. With a population of 8,902 people and just one neighborhood, Pearcy is the 45th largest community in Arkansas.

Pearcy real estate is some of the most expensive in Arkansas, although Pearcy house values don't compare to the most expensive real estate in the U.S.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns, Pearcy isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Pearcy are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Pearcy is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Pearcy who work in office and administrative support (12.58%), management occupations (9.38%), and healthcare (8.35%).

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Pearcy has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Pearcy has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Pearcy than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Pearcy may be for you.

As is often the case in a small town, Pearcy doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Pearcy Demographics

The percentage of adults in Pearcy who are college-educated is close to the national average for all communities of 21.84%: 18.47% of the adults in Pearcy have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in Pearcy in 2010 was $23,387, which is wealthy relative to Arkansas, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $93,548 for a family of four. However, Pearcy contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Pearcy home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Pearcy residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Pearcy include German, English, French , and Dutch.

The most common language spoken in Pearcy is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and German.
