Bloxom is a tiny coastal town (i.e. on the ocean, a bay, or inlet) located in the state of Virginia. With a population of 386 people and just one neighborhood, Bloxom is the 327th largest community in Virginia.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Bloxom is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Bloxom is a town of sales and office workers, service providers and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Bloxom who work in sales jobs (23.40%), food service (10.64%) and office and administrative support (7.98%).
Setting & Lifestyle
Bloxom is also nautical, which means that parts of it are somewhat historic and touch the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and bays. Quite often, nautical areas such as these attract visitors and locals who come to enjoy the scenery and various waterfront activities.
