Bergen is a very small village located in the state of New York. With a population of 1,150 people and just one neighborhood, Bergen is the 699th largest community in New York. Bergen has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic villages.

Unlike some villages where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Bergen is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Bergen is a village of sales and office workers, professionals and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Bergen who work in sales jobs (16.27%), office and administrative support (12.28%) and teaching (8.93%).
