Creighton Profile

Overview

Creighton is a very small city located in the state of Nebraska. With a population of 1,094 people and just one neighborhood, Creighton is the 98th largest community in Nebraska. Creighton has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic cities.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some cities, Creighton isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Creighton are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Creighton is a city of sales and office workers, managers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Creighton who work in management occupations (16.17%), office and administrative support (14.29%), and healthcare (8.63%).

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Creighton is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Creighton a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The city’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Creighton has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Creighton’s overall crime rate ranks among the lowest in the country, making it one of the safest places to raise a family.

One of the benefits of Creighton is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 17.85 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.

Creighton is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Creighton Demographics

The overall education level of Creighton is somewhat higher than in the average US city of 21.84%: 26.58% of adults 25 and older in the city have at least a bachelor's degree.

The per capita income in Creighton in 2010 was $27,405, which is middle income relative to Nebraska and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $109,620 for a family of four. However, Creighton contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Creighton home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Creighton residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Creighton include German, Irish, Czech, English, and Swedish.

The most common language spoken in Creighton is English. Other important languages spoken here include German/Yiddish and French.
