Isleton is a tiny city located in the state of California. With a population of 828 people and just one neighborhood, Isleton is the 722nd largest community in California.
Real Estate Prices
Housing costs in Isleton are among some of the highest in the nation, although real estate prices here don't compare to real estate prices in the most expensive communities in California.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Isleton is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Isleton is a city of service providers, construction workers and builders and sales and office workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Isleton who work in maintenance occupations (21.45%), management occupations (12.46%) and office and administrative support (12.11%).
In addition, many people in Isleton have jobs in agriculture, more so than in most other communities in America. As a result, you will see quite a number of farms around town.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 8.27% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
As is often the case in a small city, Isleton doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
