Charleston is a very small city located in the state of Arkansas. With a population of 2,500 people and just one neighborhood, Charleston is the 114th largest community in Arkansas.

Unlike some cities, Charleston isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Charleston are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Charleston is a city of sales and office workers, professionals and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Charleston who work in sales jobs (15.11%), office and administrative support (14.18%) and teaching (10.54%).
There are many members of the armed forces living in Charleston. You will notice when you visit or live here that some of the people you meet or see around town are employed by the armed services - even if they are not always in uniform.

Because there are quite a few people attending college in Charleston, it is thought of as a college town. To the benefit of the many students in the area, Charleston provides a number of services, amenities and opportunities geared towards their needs and activities.
