Golinda Profile

Overview

Golinda is a tiny city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 557 people and just one neighborhood, Golinda is the 933rd largest community in Texas.

Golinda is a blue-collar town, with 40.55% of people working in blue-collar occupations, while the average in America is just 27.7%. Overall, Golinda is a city of construction workers and builders, sales and office workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Golinda who work in office and administrative support (16.13%), maintenance occupations (7.37%), and food service (6.91%).

Also of interest is that Golinda has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Setting & Lifestyle

Golinda is also a college town, where lots of students live while attending area colleges. Because of the high percentage of people living in Golinda enrolled in college, Golinda has a number of services, amenities and opportunities geared towards the needs and activities of students.

It is a fairly quiet city because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Golinda has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Golinda has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Golinda than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Golinda may be for you.

Being a small city, Golinda does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Golinda Demographics

In Golinda, just 11.08% of people have at least a bachelor's degree, which is quite a bit lower than the national average for cities and towns of 21.84%.
