Weston is a tiny city located in the state of Oregon. With a population of 666 people and just one neighborhood, Weston is the 187th largest community in Oregon. Weston has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic cities.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some cities, Weston isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Weston are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Weston is a city of sales and office workers, service providers and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Weston who work in sales jobs (19.13%), personal care services (14.35%) and management occupations (12.17%).
Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 8.77% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
Residents will find that the city is relatively quiet. This is because it is not over-populated, and it has fewer college students, renters, and young children - all of whom can be noisy at times. So, if you're looking for a relatively peaceful place to live, Weston is worth considering.
As is often the case in a small city, Weston doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
