Roff Profile

Overview

Roff is a tiny town located in the state of Oklahoma. With a population of 720 people and just one neighborhood, Roff is the 256th largest community in Oklahoma.

Occupations and Workforce

Because occupations involving physical labor dominate the local economy, Roff is generally considered to be a blue-collar town. 39.13% of the Roff workforce is employed in blue-collar occupations, compared to the national average of 27.7%. Overall, Roff is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Roff who work in office and administrative support (15.53%), teaching (8.07%), and sales jobs (7.76%).

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Roff has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Roff has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Roff than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Roff may be for you.

Compared to the rest of the country, citizens of Roff spend much less time in their cars: on average, their commute to work is only 18.56 minutes. This also means that noise and pollution levels in the town are less than they would otherwise be.

Being a small town, Roff does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Roff Demographics

The citizens of Roff have a very low rate of college education: just 8.60% of people over 25 have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree, compared to a national average of 21.84% for all cities.

The per capita income in Roff in 2010 was $14,973, which is low income relative to Oklahoma and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $59,892 for a family of four.

Roff is a very ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Roff home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Roff residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Roff include German, English, Dutch West Indian, and Italian.

The most common language spoken in Roff is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and Hungarian.
