Milburn Profile

Overview

Milburn is a tiny town located in the state of Oklahoma. With a population of 317 people and just one neighborhood, Milburn is the 310th largest community in Oklahoma.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Milburn is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Milburn is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Milburn who work in office and administrative support (15.38%), teaching (10.26%), and food service (8.97%).

Setting & Lifestyle

It is a fairly quiet town because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Milburn has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Milburn has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Milburn than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Milburn may be for you.

As is often the case in a small town, Milburn doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Milburn Demographics

The population of Milburn has a very low overall level of education: only 9.01% of people over 25 hold a 4-year college degree or higher.

The per capita income in Milburn in 2010 was $13,143, which is low income relative to Oklahoma and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $52,572 for a family of four.

Milburn is a somewhat ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Milburn home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Milburn residents report their race to be White, followed by Native American. Important ancestries of people in Milburn include German, English, Dutch West Indian, and Dutch.

The most common language spoken in Milburn is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and African languages.
