Phelps is a very small village located in the state of New York. With a population of 1,958 people and just one neighborhood, Phelps is the 569th largest community in New York. Much of the housing stock in Phelps was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic villages in the country.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some villages where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Phelps is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Phelps is a village of professionals, managers and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Phelps who work in management occupations (14.74%), food service (9.53%) and office and administrative support (8.91%).
