Schurz is a tiny town located in the state of Nevada. With a population of 620 people and just one neighborhood, Schurz is the 46th largest community in Nevada.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some towns, Schurz isn’t mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Schurz are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Schurz is a town of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Schurz who work in office and administrative support (26.14%), management occupations (14.77%) and sales jobs (8.52%).
Of important note, Schurz is also a town of artists. Schurz has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Schurz’s character.
A relatively large number of people in Schurz telecommute to their jobs. Overall, about 10.98% of the workforce works from home. While this may seem like a small number, as a fraction of the total workforce it ranks among the highest in the country. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
Residents will find that the town is relatively quiet. This is because it is not over-populated, and it has fewer college students, renters, and young children - all of whom can be noisy at times. So, if you're looking for a relatively peaceful place to live, Schurz is worth considering.
As is often the case in a small town, Schurz doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
