Arrey Profile

Overview

Arrey is a tiny town located in the state of New Mexico. With a population of 220 people and just one neighborhood, Arrey is the 114th largest community in New Mexico.

Occupations and Workforce

Arrey is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Arrey is a town of professionals, farmers, fishers, or foresters, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Arrey who work in teaching (69.63%), farm management occupations (16.23%), and food service (6.81%).

Another important characteristic of Arrey is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Arrey is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Arrey really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Arrey perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

The town is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Arrey has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Arrey a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

Compared to the rest of the country, citizens of Arrey spend much less time in their cars: on average, their commute to work is only 13.08 minutes. This also means that noise and pollution levels in the town are less than they would otherwise be.

Arrey is a very car-oriented town. 1.00% of residents commute to work in a private automobile rather than by other means, such as public transit, bicycling, or walking. This is because Arrey is a small town , and most people who live here have to drive out of town for work, and the town population is not large nor dense enough to support an extensive public transportation system. Arrey has a lot of rural roads, and houses can be far apart. Many residents drive out of town for regular shopping trips as well.

As is often the case in a small town, Arrey doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Arrey Demographics

The education level of Arrey ranks among the highest in the nation. Of the 25-and-older adult population in Arrey, 47.16% have at least a bachelor's degree. The typical US community has just 21.84% of its adults holding a bachelor's degree or graduate degree.

The per capita income in Arrey in 2010 was $17,767, which is middle income relative to New Mexico, and low income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $71,068 for a family of four.
