Hildreth Profile

Overview

Hildreth is a tiny village located in the state of Nebraska. With a population of 346 people and just one neighborhood, Hildreth is the 170th largest community in Nebraska. Hildreth has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic villages.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some villages where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Hildreth is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Hildreth is a village of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Hildreth who work in management occupations (12.83%), office and administrative support (11.95%), and sales jobs (11.95%).

Setting & Lifestyle

Because of many things, Hildreth is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Hildreth a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The village’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Hildreth has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Hildreth’s overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

It is a fairly quiet village because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Hildreth has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Hildreth has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Hildreth than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here. If you think trees make good neighbors, Hildreth may be for you.

As is often the case in a small village, Hildreth doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Hildreth Demographics

In terms of college education, Hildreth is nearly on par with the US average for all cities of 21.84%: 17.45% of adults 25 and older in Hildreth have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in Hildreth in 2010 was $28,752, which is wealthy relative to Nebraska, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $115,008 for a family of four. However, Hildreth contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

The people who call Hildreth home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Hildreth residents report their race to be White. Important ancestries of people in Hildreth include English, Swedish, Scots-Irish, and Irish.

The most common language spoken in Hildreth is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and German.
