Savage is a very small town located in the state of Montana. With a population of 1,776 people and just one neighborhood, Savage is the 53rd largest community in Montana.
Occupations and Workforce
When you are in Savage, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 36.19% of Savage’s employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 27.7% that do. Overall, Savage is a town of managers, sales and office workers and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Savage who work in management occupations (22.58%), sales jobs (9.38%) and office and administrative support (8.76%).
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 12.25% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
Residents will find that the town is relatively quiet. This is because it is not over-populated, and it has fewer college students, renters, and young children - all of whom can be noisy at times. So, if you're looking for a relatively peaceful place to live, Savage is worth considering.
Savage is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
