Patriot is a tiny town located in the state of Indiana. With a population of 205 people and just one neighborhood, Patriot is the 434th largest community in Indiana. Much of the housing stock in Patriot was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.
Occupations and Workforce
Patriot is a blue-collar town, with 36.64% of people working in blue-collar occupations, while the average in America is just 27.7%. Overall, Patriot is a town of service providers, sales and office workers and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Patriot who work in office and administrative support (19.85%), food service (8.40%) and sales jobs (6.87%).
Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 15.63% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
In Patriot, however, the average commute to work is quite long. On average, people spend 31.46 minutes each day getting to work, which is significantly higher than the national average.
As is often the case in a small town, Patriot doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
