Ririe is a tiny city located in the state of Idaho. With a population of 636 people and just one neighborhood, Ririe is the 97th largest community in Idaho.
Occupations and Workforce
Because occupations involving physical labor dominate the local economy, Ririe is generally considered to be a blue-collar town. 39.40% of the Ririe workforce is employed in blue-collar occupations, compared to the national average of 27.7%. Overall, Ririe is a city of service providers, sales and office workers and transportation and shipping workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Ririe who work in sales jobs (11.34%), farm management occupations (9.85%) and personal care services (9.85%).
In addition, many people in Ririe have jobs in agriculture, more so than in most other communities in America. As a result, you will see quite a number of farms around town.
Also of interest is that Ririe has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their home: 9.25% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Setting & Lifestyle
Ririe’s overall crime rate ranks among the lowest in the nation, making it a very safe place to live.
As is often the case in a small city, Ririe doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
