Missouri Valley is a very small city located in the state of Iowa. With a population of 2,692 people and just one neighborhood, Missouri Valley is the 122nd largest community in Iowa. Missouri Valley has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic cities.
Occupations and Workforce
Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Missouri Valley is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Missouri Valley is a city of service providers, sales and office workers and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Missouri Valley who work in office and administrative support (12.83%), sales jobs (9.45%) and teaching (7.69%).
Setting & Lifestyle
It is a fairly quiet city because there are relatively few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. (Children, for example, often can't help themselves from being noisy, and being parents ourselves, we know!) Missouri Valley has relatively few families with children living at home, and is quieter because of it. Renters and college students, for their own reasons, can also be noisy. Missouri Valley has few renters and college students. But the biggest reason it is quieter in Missouri Valley than in most places in America, is that there are just simply fewer people living here.
