Logan is a very small city located in the state of Iowa. With a population of 1,474 people and just one neighborhood, Logan is the 194th largest community in Iowa. Much of the housing stock in Logan was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.

Logan is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Logan is a city of sales and office workers, service providers and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Logan who work in office and administrative support (17.17%), management occupations (9.09%) and teaching (7.45%).

Because of many things, Logan is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Logan really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Logan perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.
