Ehrenberg Profile

Overview

Ehrenberg is a very small town located in the state of Arizona. With a population of 1,449 people and just one neighborhood, Ehrenberg is the 123rd largest community in Arizona.

Occupations and Workforce

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Ehrenberg is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Ehrenberg is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Ehrenberg who work in sales jobs (22.88%), teaching (8.49%), and community and social services (8.49%).

Setting & Lifestyle

Another notable thing is that Ehrenberg is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the town experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller town.

The town is relatively quiet, having a combination of lower population density and few of those groups of people who have a tendency to be noisy. For example, Ehrenberg has relatively fewer families with younger children, and/or college students. Combined, this makes Ehrenberg a pretty quiet place to live overall. If you like quiet, you will probably enjoy it here.

Compared to the rest of the country, citizens of Ehrenberg spend much less time in their cars: on average, their commute to work is only 17.51 minutes. This also means that noise and pollution levels in the town are less than they would otherwise be.

Ehrenberg is a small town, and as is often the case with smaller towns, the population isn't large or dense enough to support much in the way of a public transportation system. In fact, there are many rural roads around Ehrenberg, which makes walking or biking to and from work a bit difficult. This makes for a very car-oriented town: 1.00% of residents commute to work by private automobile, and people often drive out of town for work, shopping, and other activities.

As is often the case in a small town, Ehrenberg doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Ehrenberg Demographics

In terms of college education, Ehrenberg ranks among the least educated cities in the nation, as only 5.62% of people over 25 have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in Ehrenberg in 2010 was $21,503, which is upper middle income relative to Arizona, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $86,012 for a family of four. However, Ehrenberg contains both very wealthy and poor people as well.

Ehrenberg is a somewhat ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Ehrenberg home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Ehrenberg residents report their race to be White, followed by Asian. Ehrenberg also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 17.70% of the town’s residents. Important ancestries of people in Ehrenberg include English, German, Italian, and French .

The most common language spoken in Ehrenberg is English. Other important languages spoken here include Spanish and African languages.
