Lingle is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Lingle is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Lingle who work in office and administrative support jobs (16.19%), sales jobs (12.77%), and farm management (10.79%).
You will also find that a lot of people in Lingle work in agricultural jobs - much more than in the average community in America. This will be quite apparent if you drive around town, as much of the landscape is dedicated to farms.
A relatively large number of people in Lingle telecommute to their jobs. Overall, about 8.35% of the workforce works from home. While this may seem like a small number, as a fraction of the total workforce it ranks among the highest in the country. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
One of the benefits of Lingle is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 18.50 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.
As is often the case in a small town, Lingle doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
The citizens of Lingle are slightly better educated than the national average of 14.96% for all cities and towns, with 18.11% of adults in Lingle having a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
