About Alcova

Alcova is a tiny town located in the state of Wyoming. With a population of 211 people and just one neighborhood, Alcova is the 62nd largest community in Wyoming.

Alcova is a decidedly white-collar town, with fully 90.48% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Alcova is a town of managers, professionals, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Alcova who work in farm management (51.19%), teaching (21.43%), and sales jobs (9.52%).

Another important characteristic of Alcova is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

Alcova is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the town experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller town.

Alcova is very much a car-oriented town. This is because the population of Alcova isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 100% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Alcova is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
