About Fish Creek

Fish Creek is a very small town located in the state of Wisconsin. With a population of 1,118 people and just one neighborhood, Fish Creek is the 380th largest community in Wisconsin.

Unlike some towns , Fish Creek isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Fish Creek are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Fish Creek is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Fish Creek who work in sales jobs (14.87%), management occupations (13.08%), and food service (9.68%).

Of important note, Fish Creek is also a town of artists. Fish Creek has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Fish Creek's character.

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes - 11.90% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Fish Creek is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the town experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller town.

One of the benefits of Fish Creek is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 16.12 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.

Fish Creek is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
