Parkland is a medium-sized town located in the state of Washington. With a population of 23,908 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Parkland is the 43rd largest community in Washington.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Parkland is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Parkland is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Parkland who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.83%), sales jobs (10.37%), and management occupations (6.69%).

Because there are quite a few people attending college in Parkland, it is thought of as a college town. To the benefit of the many students in the area, Parkland provides a number of services, amenities and opportunities geared towards their needs and activities.
