About Ferrisburg

Ferrisburg is a very small town located in the state of Vermont. With a population of 2,657 people and just one neighborhood, Ferrisburg is the 92nd largest community in Vermont. Much of the housing stock in Ferrisburg was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Unlike some towns , Ferrisburg isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Ferrisburg are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Ferrisburg is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Ferrisburg who work in office and administrative support jobs (11.36%), management occupations (8.85%), and sales jobs (7.07%).

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes - 10.29% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Ferrisburg is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
