Artesian is a tiny town located in the state of South Dakota. With a population of 671 people and just one neighborhood, Artesian is the 102nd largest community in South Dakota. Artesian has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.
Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Artesian is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Artesian is a town of managers, professionals, and sales and office workers.
