Everson, WA Information

About Everson

Everson is a very small coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Washington. With a population of 2,048 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Everson is the 197th largest community in Washington.

When you are in Everson, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 48.7% of Everson's employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 24.7% that do. Overall, Everson is a city of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Everson who work in office and administrative support jobs (11.03%), sales jobs (9.41%), and management occupations (4.99%).

Another important characteristic of Everson is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

The city is also nautical, which means that parts of Everson are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery.

Everson is very much a car-oriented city. This is because the population of Everson isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 96.56% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Being a small city, Everson does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Everson Information and Demographics

The rate of college-level education in Everson is quite a bit lower than the national average among all cities of 14.96%: just 10.60% of people here over 25 have a bachelor's degree or an advanced degree.

The per capita income in Everson in 2000 was $13,700, which is low income relative to Washington, and lower middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $54,800 for a family of four.
