Sinton, TX Information

About Sinton

Sinton is a somewhat small coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Texas. With a population of 5,724 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Sinton is the 315th largest community in Texas.

Unlike some cities, Sinton isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Sinton are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Sinton is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Sinton who work in office and administrative support jobs (14.49%), sales jobs (11.77%), and teaching (10.97%).

The city is also nautical, which means that parts of Sinton are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery.

Sinton is very much a car-oriented city. This is because the population of Sinton isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 97% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Sinton is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
