About Nevada

Nevada is a very small town located in the state of Texas. With a population of 4,014 people and just one neighborhood, Nevada is the 392nd largest community in Texas.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Nevada is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Nevada is a town of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Nevada who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.66%), sales jobs (11.06%), and management occupations (8.50%).

Also of interest is that Nevada has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Nevada is a good choice for families with children because of several factors. Many other families with children live here, making it a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families. The town's good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic success. Many people own their own single-family homes, providing areas for children to play and stability in the community. Finally, Nevada's overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

In Nevada, however, the average commute to work is quite long. On average, people spend 47.54 minutes each day getting to work, which is significantly higher than the national average.

Nevada is a small town, and as is often the case with smaller towns, the population isn't large or dense enough to support much in the way of a public transportation system. In fact, there are many rural roads around Nevada, which makes walking or biking to and from work a bit difficult. This makes for a very car-oriented town: 98.48% of residents commute to work by private automobile, and people often drive out of town for work, shopping, and other activities.

As is often the case in a small town, Nevada doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
