Elgin is a somewhat small city located in the state of Texas. With a population of 5,790 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Elgin is the 312nd largest community in Texas.

Elgin is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Elgin is a city of sales and office workers, service providers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Elgin who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.44%), sales jobs (7.85%), and teaching (5.38%).
