About Lakewood

Lakewood is a larger medium-sized city located in the state of Ohio. With a population of 56,646 people and 19 constituent neighborhoods, Lakewood is the 14th largest community in Ohio. Lakewood has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.

Unlike some cities, Lakewood isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Lakewood are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Lakewood is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Lakewood who work in office and administrative support jobs (16.02%), sales jobs (12.01%), and management occupations (9.91%).

Also of interest is that Lakewood has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Another interesting thing about Lakewood, despite not being a huge city, is that there is a relatively high proportion of people living here who are young, single, and upwardly-mobile professionals. This makes it a good choice for other relocating single professionals. Here, these young singles will find many others like themselves, with opportunities for friendships, socializing, romance, and fun.

In addition to being popular with young singles, Lakewood is also home to many people who can be described as "urban sophisticates," which are people who are not only wealthy and employed in professional occupations, but highly educated to boot. Urban sophisticates have urbane tastes - whether they reside in a big or small city, a suburb, or a little town. Urban sophisticates support bookstores, quality clothing stores, enjoy luxury travel, and in big cities, they are truly the patrons of the arts, attending and supporting institutions such as opera, symphony, ballet, and theatre.
