Havelock is a medium-sized coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of North Carolina. With a population of 22,701 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Havelock is the 34th largest community in North Carolina.

The armed forces are a huge part of the life in Havelock, employing 37.56% of the workforce. While it is a military town, the civilian sector still plays an important role in the local economy, where the Public Service and Retail industries employ 17.26% and 13.06% of the civilian workforce, respectively.
