About Bath

Bath is a tiny coastal town (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of North Carolina. With a population of 268 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Bath is the 442nd largest community in North Carolina. Much of the housing stock in Bath was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Unlike some towns, Bath isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Bath are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Bath is a town of professionals, managers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Bath who work in office and administrative support jobs (11.43%), management occupations (10.48%), and healthcare (9.52%).

Also of interest is that Bath has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

There are many members of the armed forces living in Bath. You will notice when you visit or live here that some of the people you meet or see around town are employed by the armed services - even if they are not always in uniform.

The town is also nautical, which means that parts of Bath are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery. This is certainly the case with Bath, which has a vibrant tourist economy.

Being a small town, Bath does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.
