Carlstadt is a somewhat small coastal borough (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of New Jersey. With a population of 5,917 people and just one neighborhood, Carlstadt is the 307th largest community in New Jersey. Carlstadt has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic boroughs in the country.
